One of the hardest things to deal with as a parent is how another person deals with your child's disability. Some can be very friendly and welcoming while others act like the disability is contagious to them. An idea is to start at an early age disability awareness starting at the preschool or daycare levels of schooling for our children. A way to encounter this is including books about disabilities in the school curriculum or activities related to specific disability qualities. By doing it, we can take steps to a better understanding of our disabled children.
