It can be quite frustrating shopping with a special needs child at times. When a child has sensory integration problems, things can get even more frustrating. Sensory integration problems is when your child has problems integrating the senses with the brain and nervous system. It can cause a variety of different problems in the store. An idea is to split the shopping trip into smaller parts if possible. Another is to have noise dampening headphones which can reduce the noises of the store. Sensory integration therapy is the final solution through an occupational therapist.
